Kayak trip day 4.Red sky by morning--- gorgeous ominous sunrise. Paddle started out raining, but very comfortable and fun. The Wasp islands were close together, varying the view, awesome. Crossing to Orcas Landing brought huge waves, wind, and current, battle to the landing. Cold, wet, hungry. Break. eat. shiver. onward. Weather improves. Get big crossings out of the way, shake fists at rude boaters, wave at nice ones. Last couple of miles very intense, into the winds, waves, current, intense struggle to the beach of Spencer Spit on Lopez. Stumble around Lopoez, back in the boats around the spit. wow. What a day. It's not over.
