Notes
Well, that was fun!
The Good:
-Outdoor PR, only 1 second slower than my time from indoor nationals.
-Felt ridiculously smooth. The first couple of laps were a little sloppy trying to find my rhythm, but once it was there, I was feeling very zen.
-Stuck with the Augie girl for a good amount of time and finished pretty well
The Bad/ Ugly:
-While it felt better than that 10K, I still wasn't quite in race mode.
-I need to trust myself and my strength more in the middle. Don't let that gap form. This is a recurring problem.
-Also, I get really cranky when I am tired, so my apologies to everyone who had to deal with me on the van ride home.
At the end of the day, I am pleased with this race. It's one step up from my last race, and I proved to myself that sub-17 was not just a fluke. To be frank, I'm really excited about this race, because if a 16:52 can feel that relaxed, I know that I can go a lot faster. This was more than just one brick in my house of confidence. Maybe a whole wall.
Having so much of the team out there cheering was amazing and the energy was phenomenal, so THANK YOU! 🖤
