I wrote this and then got embarrassed/was thinking about going to the gym at 11pm after I hung up with my mom so I made it private. I didn't end up running, so I figured I'd make it public again.
Today is my 7am-6 or 7pm day (today was until 7), I got news at around then from my mom that she has decided to stay on the island and not evacuate the house. I've been freaking out and she's scared because she is alone. Apparently the island is a ghost town. The area hasn't been hit with a hurricane like this in over 10 years. Everyone went to shelters on mainland. The roads are closed until Saturday afternoon, they have cut off the water supply, and she will probably lose electricity early tomorrow since the hurricane is expected to hit around 2am. We are going to be talking on the phone for most of the night. I feel really bad for choosing to miss a day but this is important because I don't know how bad the storm will be and I want to be there for her. I'm really sorry.
