Take us out to starting line via trailer and hay bales. Race consists of essentially Craig, myself and about 5 other adults and about 30 members of the state championship xc boys/girls team from Pekin, Iowa.
Splits: 5:41/5:41 (11:22)/ 5:40 (17:02)/ :30 for a 17:32. Watching the clock click :32 as I go thru and click the garmin as slowing down after passing chute. Official time per scorer is 17:34. Garmin distance of 3.11
No one pushing me past about 1/2 mile so focusing on holding pace and maintaining turnover. Worked well today. Craig wins 40-49 age group with solid 20:40. Good run. Course started with downhill then uphill to first mile and rolling inclines/declines until last .40 mile which was flat as we rolled into town.
