Summer Speedwork Time Trial. Dave was in Florida visiting his parents, so I had to sub in as coach for the Time Trial. Had to go Bob Dingy style...
I wasn't overly excited, as we'd run 12 that day, and I hadn't eaten since the strange experience that was Tiffany's. Well...then I was running late, and I wasn't able to get a warmup in, and I really had to pee, but the track had no bathrooms. So...I was like...maybe I'll run with Crazy Legs, and just jog the mile. Well...Chip came up and asked if I could help pace him to a 5:10. I was hesitant, due to the lack of warmup, and addition of the 12 miler that morning. So I agreed to pace him through halfway at 2:35, and more if I felt up for it. Well...I hit 800 in 2:35...with Chip a good 3-4 seconds back. So...I was just like..."eh, what the heck..." and ran harder. Ended up running 5:06, by myself. Not too shabby, all things considered.
