Notes

Workout on somewhat icy turf 200m loop in ECAV Stadium: 3x800 @ 3k GP w/ 2' rest, 4x400 @ mile GP w/ 200 jog rest, 1x800 @ 3k GP. GP (adjusted for turf) was 2:26/68. Ran w/ Brian & Cish.

Workout was HARD. Ate lunch a little too late which certainly didn't help, but mostly it was just really tough. We were really hammering just to stay somewhat close to our goal times. I actually think that Sunday's talk helped a bit in that (vs say, last week's w/o) I tried to be less outcome oriented and more process oriented, which I think kept me in a positive mindset and able to still work hard through the whole workout despite being really "off". It was tough though, I really can't bring to mind a workout from the past where I was breathing so heavily for so long. "Short but intense" as coach put it. We rotated who led each rep, so I took the second 800, the 3rd 400, and the final 800. For most of the workout I was probably a second or two off Matt and Brian. Really went to the well on the last one, it felt like the end of a race. I led through 400 on pace for 2:26, then started to tie up and Brian passed me, I responded well though and hung with him to the end.

Well it wasn't pretty but got it done, wasn't on the paces but coach said he would have been surprised if we were. Definitely running the mile @ Brockport this weekend, and superr jacked for States. Need to lock down diet & sleep, goal for the next two weeks is to be in bed reading by 11:30 at the latest, lights out by midnight!
