Weird warmup. Mini bands, lunge matrix, spider mans, leg swings, THEN 15' jog? Not cool coach

If you remember last fall we did hip drops on the steps and mini bands then warm up.... Also if you got dressed in time Tuesday this would have happened...principles of training general to specific.

Mini bands/ hips- general

Lunges in all planes of motion hips, core, legs- specific

Crawls- movement coordination- brain function- whole body general

Leg swings- specific mobility

15 min jog- aerobic system warm up- whole body specific

Skips- specific movement coordination

Strides- neuromuscular prep

Is this what we are gonna do before races? What happened to lunge and reach?

We're you not at the first practice? I said nobody was doing it right so we were going to keep it simple because I wanted to see lunges and not steps.

Yes BUT historically we have ALWAYS done lunge matrix on easy days so that was nothing new. Lunge and reach was reserved for workouts / races

Yes, BUT, the majority of you stink at lunge and reach and don't put the proper effort into the lunge or the reach, so I took it from focusing on two things to just one....lunge...by all means reach if you want, just do it right
