Don't tell that to my gay friends...

Experts said the world is flat

Experts said that man would never fly

Experts said we'd never go to the moon

Name me one of those "experts"...

History never remembers the name of experts; just the innovators who had the guts to challenge and prove the "experts" wrong

Don't tell that to my gay friends...
Straight and gay are not only synonymous they're identical. P.S. Don't tell any of my ostrich friends, they swing the other direction Wink (if you know what I mean)

So, if an ostrich's leg is anatomically different than mine, how can comparing what an ostrich does while running have any impact whatsoever on what I do? Sorta like comparing a bicycle to a Formula One race car. Both have wheels.

We both have two legs, and identical leg anatomy, They're similar in size (If you're in the NBA), but unlike humans, they don't have health care. So my question is how they move and manage the momentum of running 40MPH and executing a 90 degree cut in direction. 70% of ACL tears are directional change maneuvers and non contact... They're much more efficient in how they use their feet than we are. I wanted to figure out why. Plus they can increase in speed during the curves of a track, while humans can't http://jeb.biologists.org/cgi/content/abstract/210/6/971 And ostriches have two legs, but no appendages to swing in counterbalance as humans use arms. My question was how they run with no need of upper body counterbalance energy waste.

You have an odd definition of 'identical'.

I can't go faster as I round a curve on a track? Huh. I had no idea.

You have an odd definition of 'identical'.
Why? They have a femur, patella, and tibia. Track runners run on their toes and the heels of the shoes don't even allow the runner to touch the ground. Ostriches walk with the same balance skills necessary for track running because they can increase their cornering speed and they're naturally able to walk on toes only. Humans can't Are high heels easy for you to wear? Or are they painful?

We both have two legs, and identical leg anatomy,
An ostrich moves forward by expanding or opening their knee to propel them. their knee bends forward to close. or closes towards the direction of travel. The leg is bent prior to landing. Humans move forward by contracting or closing their knee to propel them. Their knee bends rearward to close, or closes away from the direction of travel. The leg is extended prior to landing. Not quite identical. In fact almost an opposite sort of movement going on.

To recap, ostriches and humans have IDENTICAL leg anatomy because:
Why? They have a femur, patella, and tibia.
I have a pee pee, therefore I am identical to a porn star.

They do have a femur in forward extension as humans. For them, its just very small. The get their power and speed from their calf muscles, not their femur as humans utilize (and easily injure)
