The pain that hurts the worse is the imagined pain. One of the most difficult arts of racing is learning to ignore the imagined pain and just live with the present pain (which is always bearable.) - Jeff

4 miles outside last night, as it was raining. It was humid, so my attempt to do MAF was touch and go.

Got a full week of training in after a rest week. My legs aren't feeling like wet logs anymore. Have a good weekend. Any lurkers from the Gulf Coast in Texas, may you stay dry and safe.

Hi, ran 25 miles last week (per my coach) and I feel like I'm a slacker, ha. This week I have 35 and still feeling like one. Ran 5 and 5 the last two days. Back on the TM because we are still in the 100s (last week it rained a couple of days and I was able to run in 90 and rain, but not this week).

Shirley, you can't be serious.
Great job on the marathon, Docket!
This morning a few friends of mine performed the "Find Max HR Test" that is stickied in this forum. The result of my test was 206 bpm. I wish I would have done this test sooner so I have a better feel of what % of max I've been running at but there it is. I was wondering why I was never sweating!
On a side note, my marathon training continues to go very well. I've been continuing to run weekly mileage between 70 and 85 miles per week. All miles are still easy pace except for the last 3-6 of the long run. For example, last weekend's long run was 20 miles. First 15 miles were an average bpm of 125 (I now know this is 60% of max for me) and the last 5 miles at 6:20 or faster with mile 20 at 6:08. I was fresh enough to do a "recovery" run of 12 miles the next day!
Got to love this sport! 5 weeks until the St George Marathon.
Nice job on the training and the test!
I ran my first speedwork since the knee issue yesterday. 7 with 8 X 100m. It went well. The mega fan was making the TomTom crazy, so I apparently ran everything at 5K HR. Not really, but all that wind sometimes makes the HR not accurate.
