Notes

8 mile progression run.

Beautiful weather to have a workout today. Had a busy day at the Conductor's symposium that took a solid three hours, but learned a lot about conducting, which was cool. Just tried to mentally break from everything so I could have a good workout.

Group was me, Frintner, William, Feldman, Golden, and Morissey. Jared would join at the second mile because he's doing lower mileage. I ended up leading the first half of the run, which is fine since I need to start learning to pace by feel and not just through watch. First two went fine, but the third one was slightly slower than I expected. So, I had to pick up the pace a bit. Started to pull down time up to the fifth mile. Sixth one, I started to struggle and Jared took over at this point. I I had a lot of difficulty with the seventh mile because of all the wind blowing at me. I was using a lot more fast twitch muscles for this section, so my legs were spent. Once we got through that mile, I got a second wind and started to drop the pace one last time. Finished in about 5:25, which is what we were aiming for.

Considering the wind for this workout, this was a decent progression run given that we really dropped down 3 times . My legs got a very good workout but aerobically it wasn't that demanding, which I can see it as a good sign that i can endure faster paces better as long as my legs can keep up with it.
