Notes

9 degree outside when I woke up didn't look too encouraging for an outside run, so up to UB I headed.

I got there right when the track opened at 10 & started running shortly thereafter. It was supposed to close at 11:45, but fortunately it never did - each of my last laps I nervously looked around the last corner to luckily find the door to the arena still open.

My knee seemed to hold up fine, but the inner part just below the knee was tight, something I've felt from time to time.

As for the run itself, I purposely started a couple seconds slower a lap than I normally run, knowing it was going to be a long day. Going slower came a lot easier than I expected - normally I struggle to slow down. Perhaps it was the higher milage this week adding up. The slower pace worked well though - I'm sure I could have actually run even further without any issue. I kept repeating "I can go all day". About half way through I started to worry about not finishing before the arena doors were closed & picked up the pace - I'm sure I negative split the second half.

Afterwards, I couldn't believe how covered in salt I was - I have NEVER been so covered. No one gave me any really funny looks though, which was kinda disappointing.
