Really good long run in Deansgrange (5 laps). Focused very much on keeping the pace nice and slow and keeping the HR low. Was very comfortable right from the off - really wanted to finish with fresh legs and to be honest I finished well. No problems with gels - took one at 70 mins as planned and didn't suffer any weakening at any stage. Ran most of the way on the paths and roads to get my legs used to running on the harder surfaces. Achilles a bit sore but no worse than normal. Speed fo rthe first hour was around 8.30 per mile or slightly less and I slowly upped the pace towards the end but not much. Delighted to get to 95 mins with no real problems
