Longest cycle ever with Jan. We went on a tough route through Timahoe, The Swan, Clough, Castlecomer, Ballyragget, Durrow, Abbeyleix and Ballyroan. It was quite a windy day and for the first 1 1/2 hours we did most of the climbing. The first hill was a brute going on for ever - never too steep but neverending. Came through it ok and actually felt pretty good by the time we had finished with the hills. From Ballyragget we were finished with the hills and had the wind mostly in our backs. Was riding smoothly but developed a sore pain in my left knee around Durrow. Cycled through it even though it was quite uncomfortable and it dulled later in the cycle meaning I could cycle home more or less pain free. Delighted with the cycle considering it was windy and very hilly. Speed was okish but this one was all about endurance. Good loop to try again as its a real ball buster for the first 90 mins :)
