Notes
Unfortunately, HR monitor didn't pick up, so no data.
i tried to not start very hard with the plan of picking up the pace on the last mile. I didn't feel like i was breathing hard the first mile despite it being more uphill. My breathing was starting to get pretty labored during the 2nd mile and I tried to just relax and breathe deeply. Ryan started the run a few yards ahead, but i quickly had the course to myself with no one in sight until a few guys in other AG's ran me down during the 3rd mile. I felt like i was fading pretty badly, and I didn't see my 2 mile split time, so I was pretty sure i'd blown up. I just kept pushing and trying to breathe relaxed even if i wasn't finishing strong like i intended. I'm pretty shocked to see I really did pick up the pace. i think the shock of running after 2 weeks off may have kept me a little slow, but i pushed the bike hard, too. My hip didn't hurt, but i could tell it was a little tender on downhills. Didn't take any fluids on the course.
