My legs were exhausted starting the run. My glutes felt so bad, that I debated just admitting riding the flat was a dumb idea and then quitting. I started out with a decent pace, though, and kept running until around mile 6. I was taking water or Gatorade and gels at all of the stops. After I caught Tiffani and she ran with me and then we started run walking together for about 1.5 miles. I was feeling a little stronger than her, so pulled ahead. I was having to run walk a lot by the end but was keeping the walking at a minute tops. normally 40 seconds. between the Humidity and exhausted legs, I don't think this race showed my running ability very well.
