Along to scant remains of clifftop Crugglestone Castle (all that remains is an arch rebuilt by the Victorians), which was considered impregnable but was captured by Robert the Bruce - of course. He is quite the local hero in these parts.
Nice weather after drizzle earlier. Boys all swam in the very shallow sea. Nice to be on a beach again. Sea shells, all the accoutrements.
