Notes

This was a great short hike up to a vortex site in the saddle of the famous Cathedral Rock. The trail was slightly under 0.7 miles, but required climbing up rock formations to get to the top, 600 feet above the trailhead. We did some exploring and found another spot a little bit away from the end of the trail. This spot was a tad bit more secluded and provided some great views of Courthouse Butte as well as homes in south Sedona and Cottonwood.

At the top we met a European guy who was quite a character. He got in front of us on the hike down and did a lot of talking. He asked us for the English name of the animal that makes the "baaaa" sound. We told him he was thinking of a mountain goat and he went crazy with this revelation. The entire way down he made very loud "baaaa" sounds and it quickly got pretty ridiculous. After passing him as well as a family, we quickly descended to get away from his antics.
