And so it begins.

On Saturdays we run long. And its a good life.

Legs felt pretty good overall. Anytime when 7:40's are coming fairly easily in the first 3-4 miles, I know I must be feeling alright. The goal was just to run comfortably but naturally pick it up a bit as I went. I got a little tired in the last couple miles, but that makes sense given the distance- it was the first true long run of this block. One of my goals for this build-up is to have more long runs in the 18-22 or 24 mile range. Last fall with my first and expedited marathon build-up I had one 16, one 18, one 20, and one 22, and that's what injury recovery and time allowed for. And I think one of the ways for me to find new fitness this time around is going to be more consistent long runs of true long run length.

Though obviously there isn't a direct correlation, according to exclusively long run distance, I'm 13 weeks ahead of where I was last year at this time. Seems like I'm off to a decent start.
