was planning on going 70 but it was just too dang nice out there today. I literally was putting forth no effort mentally or physically and was rather having a really good time just cruising so I kept going. my dad biked with me and then my mom picked us up. its been a while since I've done this route but it sure is a classic that I will think back on when I am older. on our way home, we noticed a bunch of cars parked alongside a complete random gravel road kind of in the middle of nowhere. there wasn't any houses or anything for miles. we thought it might have been a land auction or something since there were about 12 or so cars, but we decided to check it out after I saw one of those windsocks in the field a little ways (since it is unlikely an auctioneer would have a windsock at a land auction). drove by and everyone had these massive rockets in the back of their vehicles!!!! Like I'm talking anywhere from 5 to 8 feet long or more. after I thought it was some black market missile trade in rural Iowa, we saw a sign that said something along the line of "Rocket contest here" so that somewhat cured my curiosity. I suppose too that someone wouldn't bring their 8 year old girl to a black market trade deal. but ya never know.
