Long run, just wanted to get in an easy 2 hours, no illusions that I would be going very fast. Late start, but it was still reasonably cool for most of it. Similar loop to last weekend, so very hilly once again. Felt pretty good through 14 miles, began to tire around then. It also started to really heat up around that time. Really struggled going up the mile long hill on Rambla De Las Flores. Just decided to stop and walk it in when I hit Linea de Cielo, I was struggling, was pretty close to 2 hours, and was NOT ready to run uphill for another mile. Still, the run wasn't a bonk, I made it to almost 2 hours at a more or less acceptable pace. Will get there soon enough.

Another good week, hit 90+ miles, got in all my doubles, and have really locked into the routine I think. Also had a progression run Friday that I am pretty happy with at this point in the summer, moving in the right direction. This week last year I did only 81 miles at a slower pace on flatter ground.

I am NOT going to try and push to hit any specific mileage goals (i.e. "force" any 100+ weeks). The way I see it, I have about ~70 more minutes of easy running / week to phase in over time which will get me to about 103 miles. Plus as I get more fit and add workouts, the faster average pace could net as many as 7 more miles. Thus, I anticipate that naturally I will probably be running ~100 miles +/- a few for the rest of the summer, with my highest week(s) being right around 110. But I will let the weeks come as they will.

EDIT 6/15/2014: Looking back I actually went down a different path to the lagoon, added an extra .15 miles

I like that plan.

Agreed with mr. baierl. No need to force mileage. Rather be consistent than do too much and have to back off.
