The second in my series of MP long runs, aiming for 20 w/ 12 @ MP. Again, wanted to start at 6:15 and progress. Started after 7 miles, did two loops in the Back Cove and then came back. Nice weather, chilly but not too cold. Woke up about an hour and a half before and had two English muffins w/ PB. Tried to to shut my brain down for the first half of the tempo, more or less successful. Some icy patches on the trail but overall not too bad. Felt strong all the way until Commercial Street, got a little tougher there (~mile 9). Really tough going up the hill to the bridge and to the halfway, then felt better going down the other side. For the last mile I pretty much put the pedal to the floor, 5:39 GAP on Strava with the final hill. Ended up with 21 miles total, felt good all things considering the last two easy miles. 99 mile rolling 7, not too rested going into this.

Happy with this, a little slower than X-Mas but solo and colder... still feeling confident about the marathon. Wondering if I should be more serious about practicing drinking / nutrition.

Hips / glutes were tight towards the end of the pickup, have been slacking on SAM, need to be better!

73:42 for 12 miles (6:09 pace).
