Beautiful morning in Rancho Santa Fe, 70 degrees and a clear blue sky. Mapped out a nice route basically combining the two loops I've been doing this week, and set forth. Kept an easy effort, as I just wanted to get in my first 1:50+ run of the summer and make sure I didn't bonk. As usual, the run was quite rolly (1777 ft gain, 1777 ft loss), so how I felt varied wildly throughout... but overall I felt quite good. Didn't quite do the run I had planned, it turned out the trail running tight around the reservoir was fenced off so I had to do a wider loop, but I adjusted my return route and it all worked out in the end. Even added on a little at the end to get to (almost) 2 hours. It was a good run! MUCH better than last Sunday. Should note that there was a little funny business going on in both my knees, in the kneecap area. Not pain so much, but kind've an abnormal tingling? Will keep an eye on it. Foot has been feeling much better though since getting new shoes.

All in all, this has been a solid week. I think I am handling the mileage well and am coming to terms with the terrain. I've established a good running routine that I am confident I can stick to for the next 11 weeks. 86 miles with only 3 doubles is good, that's easily 90+ when I add in my two more doubles. This time last year, I ran 54.5 miles at probably a slower average pace, over much flatter terrain.
