T80, H60, DP57, W17: The temp was forecast to be beastly today in upper 90s & humid, so I got out earlier. It wasn't as bad as it sounds. The wind was the saving grace. I had only planned to run 3 or 4 miles. I just wanted to acclimate to the heat. I planned to keep it short because of the heat, and because both knees were in unusually bad shape, and I ran yesterday.

I was able to control the condition of my left back knee by running slowly. Unfortunately the right, arthritic knee never got better. I'd find myself limping now and again. I'd force myself to relax and loosen my legs, and I'd stop limping. Since the temp didn't feel as bad as it sounds, and I wanted to push thru the discomfort, I decided to see if I could do a few more miles--taking a pointer from Rich's training log to up the miles per week, (especially since I haven't done a good, long run yet). I surprised myself by doing 8. It's the longest run I've done since being waylayed. It certainly wasn't a good run, time wise; But it was a good run given the condition of my legs, the temperature, and the fact that I ran 7 miles yesterday.
