Runamuck challenge (10km). race with Denis in a farm in Kildare. We jumped over streams, waded through water and muck, climbed cargo nets, crawled on hands and knees in muck under a net, climbed round bales, pulled ourselves up steep banks with ropes and generally got very dirty clearing all types of obstacles. Absolutely great craic but tough as well. Did it with Denis - the first lap was very busy and we ended up queing for a lot of the obstacles as there were bottlenecks. Once we finished the first lap we stopped for a minute to see if we could find Zoe, Nana, Ailish and Harley. They hadn't arrived so we started our "real race". We raced the 2nd lap and there was plenty of room for us as most people only did one lap. The bet between us was I had to work for 2 days on the farm helping Denis clear a ditch if I lost but if I won he had to gve me his new North Face runners.... Good incentive for me and after a few mins I could feel him dropping a step or two behind me. I kept pushing through the obstanles and slowly pulled away. I felt very strong on the 2md lap and by the time I finished could have honestly done another lap. Brilliant craic and a good training session.....
