Notes
HR didn't start reading, so average starts about an hour into the ride.
was warm enough coming out of the water that i didn't wear a jacket after all. good thing, too, since it got humid half way through the ride. The roads were wet which made handling a little sketchy at times, and the wind picked up as i finished the second loop. tough was tough, but i never had to stand, even with the 12-25 cassette and standard rings I could slowly spin up without spiking my HR. the downhills were so steep i'd spin out, so my hr probably did drop then, though. there was a section on the way back into town that followed a running trail where we were not allowed to pass, so that was also an easier spell right before a really short, steep final uphill
i carried 2 bottles infinit and then switched to a gel flask with 3 Vanilla Powergels and water from the course.
