Notes

This was the BARFie run weekend and so we did the out and back on south side. Normally I do not like this route but right now I like every route I can run! The joy of being back on the trails after such a long lay off means I am never picky (not yet anyway).

I started out at the back with a plan to jog very easy to the 2.75 mark and then turn back. I started with Bob Agazzi but that was a bit too slow so I ran ahead and caught up with Julian. His pace was perfectly easy for me and I enjoyed his fine company until my planned half way mark. It was such a sweet feeling to run back alone on such a beautiful morning and I cruised the flats and really worked the uphills feeling happy and almost strong. My plan was to not walk at all on the return trip but it was not to be. After making it up the two steep switchbacks I really started to lose it in the last half mile, stumbling 3x on little rocks and twigs. I had to walk twice before the finish but only 10 steps each time.

Big heart rate workout! My ankle felt good the whole way. 38 out, 34 back.
